Nit Health, a privately held New Jersey/New York based, healthcare IT consulting firm with a demonstrated track record of providing critical IT support for clinical and financial applications to the healthcare industry, today announced a partnership with New Jersey Health Information Technology Extension Center (NJ-HITEC). Under the terms of the agreement, Nit Health will act as a health IT consultant and collaborate with NJ-HITEC in its efforts to promote meaningful use of EHRs among New Jersey-based providers.
Organized by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONCHIT), NJ-HITEC has been established to provide technical assistance, guidance, resources and information to accelerate provider adoption and support the meaningful use of EHRs. Nit Health under the direction of NJ-HITEC will work to assist the state’s providers in their use of health information technology through targeted outreach, one-on-one consultation and user support.
“Nit Health has the expertise to help physicians enhance care delivery, improve patient outcomes and achieve meaningful use by providing support and strategic direction as these individuals prepare for, select and ultimately implement EHRs,” said Bill O'Byrne, executive director, NJ-HITEC. “We are committed to providing assistance to our state’s primary care providers serving at-risk populations in a cost-effective manner so that they can further their adoption of health information technology.”
As part of the partnership, Nit Health will provide the following services:
- Support to help practices understand how to deploy technology in a way that complies with meaningful use standards;
- Join in clinical and administrative workflow examination to ensure each organization leverages the technology to its full potential.
- Work closely with each physician practice in order to assess their current network infrastructure and determine their needs for the future.
NJ-HITEC and its partners like Nit Health will work with an estimated 5,000 priority primary care providers in New Jersey to meet meaningful use standards within the next two years.
“This is an extremely important opportunity and we look forward to partnering with NJ-HITEC and primary care providers in New Jersey. Nit will work closely with the primary care practices to successfully implement information technology in their practices,” said Lior Blik, CEO of Nit Health. “Beyond achieving meaningful use, this collaboration offers the New Jersey primary care physicians a chance to transform their organizations through the use of clinical and administrative technologies, resulting in more favorable clinical outcomes, improved workflow and enhanced financial performance.”
